Cold Plunges
Finding the Best Cold Plunges
A cold plunge is an insulated tub with a chiller that holds water at a set temperature. Models differ in how cold they go, how much water they hold, and whether you sit upright or lie back. Chiller power decides how fast the water recovers between sessions.
We look at the temperature range, the chiller’s horsepower, and how the water is filtered. Warranty terms matter too, since the vessel and the chiller are usually covered for different lengths of time. So does the electrical requirement, because a plunge that needs its own circuit is a different purchase from one that plugs into a wall.
Keys to Your Health earns revenue from products on this page, either by selling them directly or by commission when you buy from a partner. This does not affect the price you pay.
Nordic Wave
Nordic Wave builds three cold plunges, all holding water between 35 and 104°F on a chiller that plugs into a standard 120V outlet. Each uses multi-stage filtration with built-in UV, carries two inches of foam insulation, and is rated for indoor or outdoor use down to 14°F ambient. The vessel is warranted for five years and the chiller for one.
